For this project, I have interviewed my uncle for his opinion about inter-religious friendship.
Q : What is your opinion about inter-religious friendship?
A : In my opinion, this type of relationship is develop between adherents of different religions in Malaysia. For example, inter-religious friendship might be between the followers of Islam, Hindu devotees, Buddhists and Christians. The relation between different religions in our country is strongly encouraged to create harmony in a multiracial society that also practices a different religion. As for Muslims in Malaysia, we are so lucky to celebrate Hari Raya and Independence Day this year at the same time. In addition, we can strengthen the relationship between different religions during both celebrations of Hari Raya and Independence Day. In a multiracial society like Malaysia, other adherents of different religions also celebrate Hari Raya and visiting the Muslims. This can make them to know and understand more about Muslims’ cultures and traditions. As a result, each of the different religions will respect each other and thus creating a harmonious society.
