Syahmi's Project Muhibbah

For this project, I interviewed my beloved parents to contribute some of their opinions on the questions below:

1. Q: What do you think of Hari Raya Aidilfitri?
A: Hari Raya Aidilfitri is a joyous ceremony and a month of victory for muslims who have fasted for the whole month of Ramadhan.

2. Q: How do you think Hari Raya affects the inter-racial relationship?

A: The non-muslims are welcome to their muslim friends houses who celebrate Aidilfitri. This way the non-muslims can learn about the Malay tradition and also about the Islamic way of life. Thus Hari Raya can bind the inter-racial relationship between muslims and non-muslims.

3. Q: This year we are celebrating Merdeka and Hari Raya Aidilfitri at the same time. What is your opinion?
A: Merdeka lets all Malaysians to integrate into one community regardless of race or religion, whereas Hari Raya is for Muslims. When these two celebrations are held at the same time, Malaysians become even better in understanding each other. This makes the celebration much merrier.

Project Muhibbah

I was given a task to interview my family member about Inter-racial friendship. I choose my cousin to be interviewed because he is knowledgeable and knows a lot about social relationship since he studied in a multi-racial school for years. The following is the interview between me and him:

Q1: What do you know about inter-racial friendship?

A: From my perspective, inter-racial friendship is a friendship that build between different races in the country. As we are in Malaysia, inter-racial friendship might be between Malays, Chinese and Indians.

Q2: Can you give examples on how this type of friendship can be develop?

A: First and foremost, we look at public school today. Most of the students are among Malay races, Chinese and Indians. When they are at class especially, the students tend to communicate with each other directly or indirectly, hence the inter-racial friendship develops among them.

Next, i would like to bring us back to our grandfather's memories. Before our beloved country, Malaysia achieve independance, many immigrants from China and India came to our country. In order to achieve independance, these three races cooperated and form a party. The friendship shown by the leaders of the races in that time lead to the inter-racial friendship among the citizens. Therefore, we can see how this friendship can be developed.

Q3: What is your opinion regarding the advantages of this type of friendship?

A: In my opinion, it enables us to know more about the races. We can be well acknowledged of their culture, dances and many more. Perhaps, this type of friendship will help to built 1MALAYSIA spirit among the citizens.

Don't come late to class.

Students come to class late.

When students come to class late, it can disrupt the flow of a lecture or discussion, distract other students, impede learning, and generally erode class morale. Moreover, if left unchecked, lateness can become chronic and spread throughout the class. Because there are a number of possible reasons students arrive to class late, considering which causes are at the root of the problem can help guide instructors to appropriate responses and strategies. Understanding the reasons, however, does not require tolerating the behavior.

There are few steps you should take a note.

1.Stop thinking that missing a couple of minutes won't matter
2.Ask one of your roommates to wake you up in any ways possible
  • Shaking
  • Shouting
  • Sprinkling a few drops of water.

3.Whether you have roommates or not, get an alarm clock and set your alarm.
Also, many cell phones and iPods have an alarm setting you can use.
4.Do not chat with your friends if this is what delays you before getting to class
     Tell them you'll talk later.
5.Reward yourself for being on time over a period of a week or more.
Spend money on something you enjoy like a treat, something for your collection, or go
     somewhere you like.
6.Don't continue your sleep and intentionally lazy to attend the class.

Game Talk!

Assalamualaikum and what's up people? First post for me in this little blog of ours and I guess I need to talk about something.....So I better start of with something simple, like one of my hobbies, video gaming! I play a little of everything, from the classics like Tetris or Pac Man to the more popular and competitive like Tekken and Dota.

Starcraft - one of the most popular competitive games

A while back, a friend talked about how a person died by gaming due to blood clotting or something (this vid perhaps? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYr199cjsdU ), which got me thinking how big video games are turning in most people's lives. Just to get an idea on how important gaming are these days, here's an example:

South Korean parents send their children to Starcraft boot camps so that they can become Starcraft champions and earn big.

http://kotaku.com/5553185/starcraft-boot-camp-doesnt-sound-fun-at-all

Games are now becoming a bigger part of the entertainment industry, where video game tourneys are now broadcast on tv like game shows

http://iplaywinner.com/news/2011/3/20/tekken-crash-s6-royal-rumble-vids-featuring-nyc-fab.html

In Evolution 2011, one of the biggest fihting game tournament event of the year, Fuudo who became the new Super Street Fighter 4 champion, earned a whopping $10 000.

There's something called Major League Gaming (MLG), An organization in the United States for professional gamers. Or for the cheeky, MLG = Men Lacking Girlfriends, aka "pro" gamers.

Street Fighter - shooting fireballs with your bare hands never gets old.

From a thing you can use to have fun, it is now something you can make a living from. Like NERF or to an extent, football and all other sports in fact. No wonder cases like the above are happening lately. And the fact how exciting and addictive these next-gen video games are turning is not helping.

But playing video games is not a bad thing. Just don't play it too much to the point of addiction. We should be living our lives in moderation. For example, taking too much of something will lead to bad health, from burgers, chocolates to even salad and vitamins. Wanna be a pro gamer? Go right ahead. Just learn to get your priorities straight. You don't see me staring at my tv and playing my Playstation like a zombie....... *mom sharply stares at me* .....or not XP

Also, here's a few links to show the exciting life of a pro gamer!

P.S Give me a holler if you wanna have a match with me sometimes! Currently playing-

P.S X2! Dota and Counter Strike are so old! League of Legends and Call of Duty is all the rage now! lol

inspiration !inspiration !

Fate decides who walks into our lives. We decide who we let stay, who we let walk away, and who we refuse to let walk out.

On the road of life there will always be bumps, detours, unexpected stops and sometimes you will get lost. Just learn to enjoy the ride!

Always look back at the past, not to weep on the failures but to take count of them and correct them in the future.

Norway's Twin Attack (Muhd Iqbal-112416)

Twin attacks rocked Norway on July 22, killing a total of 91 people making it the deadliest attack to hit Europe after the Madrid train bombings in 2004.

"I didn't even think it was going to happen because I thought I was safe and Norway was a safe country but it looks like it's difficult to... you never know when you're safe anymore," said Philip Abraham.

According to police, 7 people died from a bomb blast in the capital, Oslo, which took place outside Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg’s office, while 84 were massacred in a shooting spree on the island of Utoeya.

"He had a bag with many weapons and such and amo... he had a lot of amo... yeah,” said Dana Barzingi.

"He came in like the people here, he said come and be together, so they ran out and then he just shot them," said Hana Barzingi.

("Did you see that?")

"Yeah, he was just shooting everyone.”

A suspect, identified by Norwegian national broadcaster NRK as 32-year old Anders Behring Breijvik, has been taken into custody after discovering he posted right-wing remarks on the Internet.

"Compared to other countries I would not say that we have a big problem with right-wing extremists in Norway. But we have some groups - we have followed them before - and our police is aware that there are some right-wing extreme groups or at least has been some groups of that kind in Norway," said Jens Stoltenberg.

However, police didn’t verify his identity and Mr. Stoltenberg said it was still too early to ascertain motive behind the attacks.

“it is very important that those who are behind it, one or several persons, are sentenced according to Norwegian law and the Norwegian system of justice."

The Prime Minister said that police have been investigating right wing extremism groups who speak out against the country’s immigration policies are all believed to be anti-Muslim in their rhetoric.

"If it was a foreigner it would be a very sad thing for us foreigners that has nothing to do with this - we'll feel a bit, not guilt, but in a, some kind of way embarrassed to walk down the streets because people will mislike us just because we're foreigners so. When I heard it was a Norwegian I'm very shocked and this is unbelievable just tell what has happened."

What a great comeback !

Assalamualaikum and good morning . Well , last night was completely a thrilling moment for me . Not only for me but for all football lovers and specifically for Manchester United fans . It was Community Shield-derby match between Manchester United and Manchester City in Wembley . Not many teams can win a match when they were two goals down by their opponent especially with a packed of star players- team like Manchester City . But United has shown that it is not impossible if we have spirit and believe until the last minute .

Ferguson has already admitted to taking a gamble on David De Gea, who - at just 20 - is being asked to fill the boots of a man with twice his age in Edwin van der Sar . It had been accepted by Old Trafford's coaching staff that some work was required in the weights room for De Gea to have the best chance of dealing with the more physical nature of English football . His lack of bulk may be the reason why he opted against coming for Silva's teasing free-kick seven minutes before the break . Neither Vidic nor Rio Ferdinand got themselves in position to make a challenge and Lescott calmly flicked it into the corner . It got even worse for United , and De Gea , in stoppage time . Dzeko was given far too much room in midfield to decide what to do with James Milner's square pass and after advancing 10 yards, lashed a fine shot into the United net . It was two-nil in the first-half .

Ferguson's response was to replace three of his most senior players - Vidic , Ferdinand and Michael Carrick - at the break and introduce a trio of youngsters in Phil Jones , Jonny Evans and Tom Cleverley . Within six minutes of the restart , Smalling had dragged the champions back into it , touching home Young's free-kick after Dzeko had completely failed to track his run . Then came the equaliser , with Rooney , Nani and Cleverley opening City up with a devastating series of short passes before Nani beat Joe Hart with a delicate chip . De Gea showed his raw talent by beating away a ferocious goalbound effort from Adam Johnson , then palming Richards' powerful header over . Nani's injury-time goal settled a wonderful Community Shield as Manchester United roared back from two goals down .

Nani pass through Joe Hart for United's winning goal
This game has proven us that success will not come to us if we don't work and strive very hard until the last . We should take this for an example and inspiration for us to never give up despite of many trials and challenges involved in our path . Well , we would not succeed if we don't try and the word impossible is nothing . That's all . Thank you .

Salute to them !

http://www.tv-links.eu/tv-shows/House_347/

For those who didn't know what House MD is all about. Here is the synopsis that i got from Wikipedia. House (also known as House, M.D.) is an American television medical drama that debuted on the Fox network on November 16, 2004. The show's central character is Dr. Gregory House (Hugh Laurie), an unconventional and misanthropic medical genius who heads a team of diagnosticians at the fictional Princeton‑Plainsboro Teaching Hospital (PPTH) in New Jersey. The show's premise originated with Paul Attanasio, while David Shore, who is credited as creator, was primarily responsible for the conception of the title character. The show's executive producers include Shore, Attanasio, Attanasio's business partner Katie Jacobs, and film director Bryan Singer. It is largely filmed in Century City.
House often clashes with his fellow physicians, including his own diagnostic team, because many of his hypotheses about patients' illnesses are based on subtle or controversial insights. His flouting of hospital rules and procedures frequently runs him afoul of his boss, hospital administrator and Dean of Medicine Dr. Lisa Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein). House's only true friend is Dr. James Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard), head of the Department of Oncology. During the first three seasons, House's diagnostic team consists of Dr. Robert Chase (Jesse Spencer), Dr. Allison Cameron (Jennifer Morrison), and Dr. Eric Foreman (Omar Epps). At the end of the third season, this team disbands. Rejoined by Foreman, House gradually selects three new team members: Dr. Remy "Thirteen" Hadley (Olivia Wilde), Dr. Chris Taub (Peter Jacobson), and Dr. Lawrence Kutner (Kal Penn). Kutner dies toward the end of season five. Chase and Cameron continue to appear in different roles at the hospital until early in season six. Cameron then departs the hospital, and Chase returns to the diagnostic team. Thirteen takes a leave of absence for most of season seven, and her position is filled by grad student Martha M. Masters (Amber Tamblyn).
Critically acclaimed for much of its run, House was among the top-ten rated shows in the United States from its second through its fourth season. Distributed to 66 countries, House was the most watched television program in the world in 2008. The show has received several awards, including four Primetime Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, a Peabody Award, and nine People's Choice AwardsHouse's seventh season premiered on September 20, 2010. On May 10, 2011.

Interesting isn't it? This is the latest House's diagnostic team.
can't found a better and proper image :P

Owh, there are some info you need to know about house. He's a drug addict self centered crazy irresponsible genius doctor. HAHA. That's the best twist about this drama. That's all i can say about House. Hope those who haven't watch House better get along with the entertainment world. It's the best for you.

HOW TO SPEND YOUR MONEY???

Just set "SMART" financial goals
Choosing financial goals will be different for different people; however, there are some rules that apply to setting any financial goal. Financial goals that follow a "SMART" path are easier to plan for and to attain.
S - Set specific goals that are clearly defined. Ambiguous or vague goals do not give you a solid foundation to begin your plan.
M - Goals should be measurable in time and in money. How long will it take you to reach the goal and how much money will it take to reach the goal? If you cannot answer both of these questions, evaluate your financial goal again to make it more specific.
A - Goals set higher than your current financial means will allow become frustrating. Therefore, goals must beachievable and attainable - - that is to say, the goal you choose must be possible within your current budget. Otherwise, you will become frustrated when you cannot reach your goals.
R - Money goals should be realistic. It is great to dream about the future; however, do not dream above your means. If purchasing a brand new car is not within your current financial means, set a goal to buy a "new to you" vehicle.
T - Set a specific target date for your money goals. Be specific with your dates, rather than saying summer of 2015 or June 2015 - - pick the day and mark it on a calendar as your target date. Furthermore, write down everything you are willing to give up as a trade-off for your money goal. Are you willing to give up lunch out each day for your new car?
Whatever your money goals are, if you following a "SMART" path you can reach each goal and take charge of your personal finances.

Solving Mathematics...

Mathematics is used throughout the world as an essential tool in many fields, including natural science, engineering, medicine, and the social sciences. So it is very important for us to study it yet sometimes we may be caught in trouble while solving the question.

Of course, it could be very stressing when we unable to find the solution and perhaps, any logical steps could be taken. Here are some ridiculous answers when got stuck in undesirable situations…

THE BENEFITS OF RAMADHAN

Fasting may be defined as a period of complete abstinence from all types of food or just specific food. Contrary to perception that fasting is akin to subjecting the body to austere measures, it may turn out to be a ‘good treat’ for the body. What is perhaps a rare phenomenon with humans is rather second nature to animals, who instinctively avoid food to ease pain, discomfort or disease.
Many are wary of fasting fearing unhealthy outcomes. According to A. J. Carlson, Professor of Physiology, University of Chicago, a healthy person can survive without food for 50-75 days, of course only in the absence of  health problems or emotional stress. The rationale is each pound of human fat is equivalent to 3,500 calories. Even one pound of superfluous or extra fat is enough to provide the required calories for a full day of strenuous physical exertion.

Fast Healing

Phenomenal benefits occur when fasting is done following the advice of a specialist. During the initial days of a fast, usually the toughest phase, large quantities of waste flood the blood stream, ready to be flushed out. The body throws out waste through every pore, perceptibly as a thick coat on the tongue and a foul breath emanating from the mouth.

As the fast extends, the cleaning process is perfected, cleansing the body off fat, diseased cells, and mucus. When people undertake extended fasts, even toxins accumulated in the cells are removed. Diseased cells, dead cells, thickened coating of mucus on the intestinal wall, waste from - blood stream, liver, spleen, and kidney make an exit from the body. The body holds on to important minerals and vitamins throwing out toxins and old tissues. When the toxic load of the body is lessened, the efficiency of each cell is enhanced. This promotes healing. Thus during a fast, the body is on a ‘conserve energy’ and ‘healing’ mode.

Fast Treat

Why do people feel more energetic after a fast? In addition, why do they experience less hunger?

Not many of us may know that the body requires abundant energy to digest food. Fasting enables rest for the digestive system, and this saved energy goes into self-healing and repairing operations. Cleansing and detoxification in the intestines, blood and cells heals the body from many ailments.  Fasting thus, invigorates the immune system to function at its best and helps promote physical and emotional health, by rejuvenating the body.

Fasting is especially beneficial in the following situations:-

• Finding relief from a variety of health disorders may no doubt begin my making lifestyle changes. Supervised fasting for a stipulated period helps patients make those required changes in their life that will positively influence their health.

• Fasting is a blessing to overcome addictions - to caffeine, nicotine, drugs, smoking and alcohol. Fasting helps lower withdrawal symptoms, which commonly deter people from overcoming addictions.

• Fasting helps lower cholesterol.

• Fasting works wonders in alleviating disorders of the gastrointestinal system like constipation, bloating, and gastritis.

• A supervised fasting program is a boon to diabetics to make crucial lifestyle and diet changes, sacrosanct to effective treatment of the condition.

• Fasting improves mental alertness - when toxins are cleared out of the lymphatic system and blood stream, it improves mental clarity. Further, eating less results in energy conservation, which can be used by the brain for thinking tasks.

“Fasting is simply a process of deep physiological rest. This rest period helps you rebuild functioning power and recover from the energy dissipation caused by hectic daily schedules and abusive living habits.” - Frank Sabatino, D.C., Ph.D.

Briefly, a fast could result in:-

• Weight loss
• Improved mental clarity
• Improved breathing
• Improved energy levels
• Good skin
• Rejuvenated digestive system

Religious Fasting

Those who observe religious fasting believe they derive a double benefit –both physical and spiritual, from the practice. Perhaps the benefits of fasting were experienced since time immemorial, which is why major religions have inculcated fasting as a spiritual discipline and a devotional practice. The regimen could include juice fasting, liquid fasting, abstinence from meat and from whole meals for varying periods depending on the religion and the practitioner. Christianity encourages fasting during the Lenten season and Judaism during Yom Kippur and Tisha B’Av—the purpose being a sign of repentance, commemorative mourning and gratitude and to establish self-mastery of spirit over body.

Fasting is an integral part of Hinduism and it varies from eating only one meal during the day to refraining from taking food and water for 48 hours. Fasting for a month during the holy month of Ramadan is mandatory in Islam. Fasting in all religions promotes a sense of brotherhood and solidarity. When one goes hungry there is a greater awareness of how our needy and hungry brothers and sisters suffer from want. The very young, the very old and the ailing are however exempt from fasting in all religions.

Fasting - A blessing of good health

It is imperative to consult a specialist before embarking on a fast. A specialist usually conducts a thorough medical examination and may even recommend certain diagnostic tests to ascertain if fasting is safe with respect to the patient. Given the medical clearance, a fasting program supervised by a health expert can ensure a memorable fasting experience.

Undoubtedly, fasting is a great way to kick-start the body’s self-healing properties into action and enjoy the blessing of good health.

“Under qualified and experienced supervision, fasting is the greatest gift which can be given to an overburdened, sick body without benefit of any other form of therapy or treatment.”- William Esser, N.D., D.C.

How To Improvise: Life is Better If You Don’t Plan!

I recently finished reading a very interesting book called Improv Wisdom: Don’t Prepare, Just Show Up, by Patricia Ryan Madson. This book is an invitation to be natural, spontaneous and experience the gift of every moment.
In fact, improvisation is the best strategy to use after finding your purpose in life.
Almost all my life purpose coaching clients jump into goal setting and planning after they find their passion and purpose in life.
They believe that this is the best logical step to follow.
But they get surprised when they realize that I don’t recommend, and am totally against planning at this stage.

Don’t Plan NOW

When you find your passion and purpose, you experience one of the biggest transformational points in your life.
You enter a new ground that you still don’t know its shape, map and dynamics.
First, you need to get familiar with the changes on the ground, the new people you will interact with and the reactions of the people you already know.
That’s why you need to master improvisation.

How To Improvise!

  1. Learn how to best respond to life as it happens to you.
  2. Look for ways to make the best out of every moment.
  3. Just show up and do the next best possible step your mind can think of.
  4. Try everything. You still don’t know what works and what doesn’t.
  5. Be a YES man (or woman) and seize every opportunity.
As your understanding of the ground increases, you will begin to grasp the big picture of what you are heading towards.

Now You Can Plan

Only then you can set goals and lay out action plans to achieve these goals.
But until you reach this step, you only need to improvise and live in the NOW where everything really happens.
Improvisation is a great strategy for the new arrivals to the land of passionate living. Explore the ground and enjoy the now … that’s your first priority.
And when you are able to see the big picture, you can start doing some planning.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc vs Apple iPhone 4

Hi!I would like to show some comparison on Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc and Apple iphone 4..

The Arc is the most impressive Sony Ericsson device yet, but how does it fare against the current smartphone favourite, the Apple iPhone 4?
We take a look at the specs.

Look and feel

There's no doubt about it: the Apple iPhone is one of the best looking devices to date. It's simple, seamless and keeps buttons and obstructions to a minimum.
At 9.3mm thick, it was also one of the thinnest devices to launch in June last year.
The whole device is covered in an anti-scratch, anti grease coating (although this doesn't stop fingerprints showing up), and in either black or white it looks sleek.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc is the thinnest smartphone to day, just about beating the LG Optimus Black at 8.7mm at its thinnest point.
The Xperia Arc is, as you'd expect from the name, curved on the backside. It curves in and as such, sits perfectly in the hand. The Xperia Arc features a scratch resistant surface too, but we don't like the design as much at the iPhone's.
Winner: Apple iPhone

Screen

The Sony Ericsson Arc and Apple iPhone both feature stunning, high resolution touchscreens. The iPhone features Apple's Retina display, with a resolution of 640x940 pixels.
It's pretty seamless, but falls short in size when compared to the 4.2-inch Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc. The iPhone 4's screen isn't small at 3.5-inches, but it feels a lot smaller in comparison to Sony Ericsson's flagship model.
The Sony Ericsson also features Sony's Mobile Bravia technology that really does improve the colour, clarity and sharpness of movies and other content played on the screen. You can see a comparison in our hands on video.
Winner: Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc

Processor

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc and Apple iPhone both feature a 1GHz processor. Sony Ericsson has opted for the same Qualcomm Snapdragon as seen in other high-end devices including the HTC Desire, while Apple has implanted its A4 processor, essentially the same as that in the Samsung Galaxy S.
Both devices have 512MB RAM and are pretty speedy in comparison to their predecessors.
However, it's hard to judge how well they both perform when multiple apps are open, because the iPhone 4 doesn't support full multitasking.
For day to day usage, both are zippy, so it's a draw here.
Winner: Draw

Camera

The iPhone 4 showed real progress in the camera department for Apple, with 5-megapixel resolution, a flash and touch to focus. Apple then introduced HDR and photos really did improve. A top effort.
However, Sony Ericsson has used another of Sony's technologies in the Xperia Arc's architecture. Exmor R dramatically improves photos taken in low-light conditions. We saw examples of the Sony Ericsson's results against another smartphone and were very impressed, as the camera seemed to make details appear as if from nowhere.
If we're talking numbers, the Xperia Arc wins there too sporting an 8-megapixel snapper.
Winner: Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc

OS

The Apple iPhone 4 runs on the latest version of Apple's iOS software and although it still lacks quite a lot in comparison to other smartphones such as full multitasking, live widgets and Flash support, it's still a very easy to use and pretty seamless interface, just maybe needs a little updating now to fit in with the other platforms.
The Sony Ericsson Arc runs on Android 2.3 from the box, although we've been assured it'll be updateable to future versions on Android, including, surprisingly, Android 3.0, AKA Honeycomb. The one bonus of Android updates is that they can happen over the air (OTA) unlike the iPhone that has to be plugged in for updating.
Android is a much more open, flexible operating system and although the iPhone offers a lot for anyone who wants something simple to use, Android offers that little bit more.
Winner: Sony Ericsson Arc

Applications

The iPhone's App Store is leaps in front of Android, although Android offers many more free apps.
Applications are shown just for your device too, so you can be sure they'll all be compatible for the device you're using. Unfortunately, this isn't always the case for the iPhone. Older apps won't work, so you may find you've downloaded an incompatible application only after paying for it.
The Sony Ericsson Arc also (as mentioned earlier) supports live apps on homescreens, whether that's a Twitter stream, FaceBook status updates or your favourite RSS stream. This is a massive advantage for Android and one of the reasons we're fans.
Winner: Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc

Storage

When you're playing with storage, numbers are key, and the iPhone boasts an impressive number. It's available in either 16GB or 32GB versions, while the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc is only available with minimal internal storage.
However, the Xperia Arc does feature a microSD card slot, allowing you to add up to 32GB storage. It ships with 8GB which isn't the end of the world, but the iPhone will still allow you to load on a massive music collection straight from the box.
Winner: iPhone 4

Verdict

Sony Ericsson has brought out the boxing gloves to try and defeat the mighty iPhone 4 and in our opinion, has won.
The Sony touches, including Mobile Bravia and Exmor R are certainly working to strengthen the Sony Ericsson brand and we like it a lot.
Winner: Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc
